چکیده
Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems using multiple transmit and receive antennas are widely recognized as the vital breakthrough that will allow future wireless systems to achieve higher data rates with limited bandwidth and power resources. The capacity of MIMO systems depends strongly on whether the channel state information (CSI) is available at the transmitter or not. The main aim of this paper is to carry out investigations of MIMO system capacity under different assumptions about the underlying channel. The analysis of MIMO channel capacity has been carried out for two different cases based on the quality of channel state information at the transmitter side assuming that the receiver has full channel information. When the CSI is known to transmitter, the MIMO channel capacity has been determined using waterfilling algorithm. Also, analysis over the capacity of the MIMO channel systems has been considered when CSI is considered imperfect at the transmitter. In this paper we will also study about precoding techniques used to enhance the performance of MIMO system. By precoding we mean all methods applied at the transmitter that facilitates detection at the receiver. Precoding has been used in single user (SU) MIMO to improve the SNR at the receiver. In multiuser (MU) MIMO systems precoding is essential to eliminate or minimize Multiuser Interference (MUI).

Receive Antenna Selection for Multiuser MIMO Systems with Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding
In this letter, we discuss the problem of receive antenna selection in the downlink of multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP), where the number of receivers is assumed equal to that of transmit antennas. Based on the criterion of maximum system sum-capacity, a per-layer receive antenna selection scheme is proposed. This scheme, which sel...

Nonlinear precoding improves the downlink bit error rate (BER) performance of multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MUMIMO). Broadband single-carrier (SC) block transmission can improve the capability that nonlinear precoding reduces BER, as it provides frequency diversity gain. Space division multiple access (SDMA) promises high gains in the system throughput of wireless multiple antenna systems. If SDMA is used on the downlink of a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, either long-term or shortterm channel state information has to be available at the base station (BS) to facilitate the joint precoding of the signals intended for the different users...

This paper studies the sum rate performance of a low complexity quantized CSI-based Tomlinson-Harashima (TH) precoding scheme for downlink multiuser MIMO tansmission, employing greedy user selection. The asymptotic distribution of the output signal to interference plus noise ratio of each selected user and the asymptotic sum rate as the number of users K grows large are derived by using extreme...
متن کاملVector Precoding for Wireless MIMO Systems: A Replica Analysis
We apply the replica method to analyze vector precoding, a method to reduce transmit power in antenna array communications. The analysis applies to a very general class of channel matrices. The statistics of the channel matrix enter the transmitted energy per symbol via its R-transform. We find that vector precoding performs much better for complex than for real alphabets. As a byproduct, we fi...
